Grading and Graduation

However, to be in active status, a BSBA student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 Assignments and Exams Columbia Southern University has established functional scoring rubrics for all assignment types and exams (e.g., multiple-choice, research paper, case study, essay, article critique, presentation and final exam) Columbia Southern University reserves rights to change and update the assignment types and exams for any course. Grading rubrics will be informed to students on the course syllabus delivered prior to the course start date. Graduation BSBA graduates must successfully complete 120 semester hours with passing grades (a grade “D” or higher). At least 25 percent of the courses that comprise the program must be completed at CSU, which is a minimum of 30 semester hours (10 courses) in BSBA program. Though a grade “D” is considered passing, students may be required to repeat a course in which a “D” is earned if the grade results in a substandard cumulative GPA (lower than 2.0). Students must meet all financial obligations to the institution prior to submitting a Petition for Graduation. CSU will print a diploma and transcript to BSBA students after successfully checking with their all degree requirements and financial obligations.  A 60-day period may be needed for CSU to print the diploma and transcript upon receipt of Petition for Graduation submitted by a student. Students enrolled in BSBA program who achieve high level of academic achievement may qualify for honors if certain criteria are met. Honors will be noted both on the student’s diplomas and transcript. Cum laude: 3.5 – 3.79 cumulative GPA Magna cum laude: 3.8 – 3.99 cumulative GPA Summa cum laude: 4.0 cumulative GPA Students who graduated with honors must have no grade lower than a “C”, must have no record of academic integrity violation, and must not have repeated any course taken at CSU due to non-satisfactory grades.   Students are welcome to participate a Commencement Ceremony held annually in Orange Beach, Alabama. Students are encouraged to have their family members and friends to join with them in the Commencement Ceremony. CSU will send an invitation letter to the registered students for their US visa application.

Another graduation ceremony will be held in Vietnam each year by CSU and its representative Vietnam Association for Promoting Education. Students who have not attended the US ceremony are recommended for this ceremony. The ceremony information will be sent to every student by CITC.
